BROUGHT TO YOU BY RAKKH RESORT HIMACHAL PRADESH

Folk Tales from the Hills

Himachal Pradesh, literally means "in the lap of Himalayas". This Northern state of India, is surrounded by the most awestruck mountains one can lie eyes on.
This state is situated in the Western Himalayas, and surrounded by states like Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab in its borders. Himachal Pradesh is also known as Land of the Gods or Deva Bhoomi.

When you visit our resort in Himachal Pradesh, you will be stunned by the snowy mountains and breathtaking views.
There are Innumerous stories and tales that have been told for centuries in this land.
Some of these folk tales are absurd and bone chilling.
One such folk tale is that of a 70 year old man, who is said to have blindly skied through the most strenuous slopes in the Western Himalayas. It is said that he has been skiing since the age of 20 years old and there is no pictorial evidence of him skiing or being up in the mountains yet this old man is said to be still out there chasing the thrill of skiing these rough mountains.

When you travel to our resort in Himachal Pradesh, you might happen to come across the Jakhoo temple situated on the Jakhoo Hills. This temple holds the deity of Lord Hanuman and true to his origin, a large set of monkeys is said to protect this temple and snatch all the food from tourists. It is truly absurd how the Monkey God residing in the temple still is able to form his army of monkeys in this present time and guard the temple.
When you visit our resort in Himachal Pradesh, you are sure to hear the antics of these monkeys in the Jakhoo temple.

Age old tales passed around for centuries just near our resort in Himachal Pradesh

Another famous temple that you might come across on your journey to our resort in Himachal Pradesh is Kunzum Devi temple which is situated at the height of 14,900 feet on the Kunzum pass. It is generally a deserted place and this Durga Mata temple is said to be extremely auspicious. Every single vehicle that comes by this pass must take a roundabout of the temple in order to ensure the rest of their travels are safe.

It is believed that people who do not make this roundabout will find their fate based on whether or not they are a saint or a sinner. There is a belief that if a coin sticks to a rock which is inside the temple then, that person is a saint and their journey would be safe otherwise, they could be a sinner. Although no one has rebuked this theory and people tend to take the route around the temple just to be on the safer side, a lot of sinister tales are spread around in these cold rough terrains.
You can hear ghost tales and age old folklore when you visit our resort in Himachal Pradesh.
Be sure to get ready to be spooked and surprised by all the tales you might hear when you travel to our resort in Himachal Pradesh.
