Located at a height of 2842 m above sea level, Triund is known as the crown of Dharamshala, situated in the laps of the Dhauladhar mountains, it has the perfect view of the Dhauladhar mountains on one side and Kangra valley on the other. Triund trek<\/a> is probably of the most popular treks to go from Rakkh Resort, our resort in Palampur<\/a>. It is one of the easiest Himalayan treks to do on your own and attracts a lot of tourists every year from India and all over the world. Triund trek can be described as a soothing trek that can be easily accomplished by almost all age groups.<\/p>

The trek route to Triund has a beautiful mixed forest of oak, deodar, and rhododendron. With breathtaking views of the Kangra valley and the snow-covered Dhauladhar ranges, it is also very picturesque. The trek is fairly easy for the first five kilometers but the last one kilometer may require a bit of toil, the last one kilometer is popularly known as the \u201c22 curves\u201d. There are many small tea shops where one can refresh during the hike along the way. The trek is worth it as the panorama view when you reach Triund is awe-inspiring and exhilarating. There are two routes defined for the Triund trek and both routes have well-defined trails. One that begins from Galu Temple in Dharamkot and the route is about 7-8km to reach Triund. It is absolutely worth it because of the refreshing walks amongst the Rhododendron and Oak forest. Another trekking route goes via Bhagsunag Fall, which is considered to be more challenging. But you can take a taxi to Bhagsunag Fall and then trek from there which also reduces the trekking distance to about 2.5 km. You can also take one way to go up and another way to come downhill if you don\u2019t want to miss the beautiful landscape of the region. Triund is also the base camp and preparation point for the trek to Inderhara point in the Dhauladar range.<\/p>

Here is a list of things that you should carry with you on the trek: Trekking shoes, backpack, torchlight, insect repellent, medical kit, sleeping tent, trekking pole, thermals, glares, hat, poncho, camera, snacks, and water. We also suggest taking the trip on the weekdays if you truly want to enjoy the view as there are a large number of trekkers who do this trek, making it difficult to enjoy the serenity of the place and can get crowded on top during the weekends. Your trek doesn\u2019t need to end at Triund. If the adventure fanatic in you wants to hike further, you can trek to Kareri Lake, where you’ll come across some amazing rock-cut caves to explore. So if you have the energy, check out this lake. The trek to Triund can be completed in a day, but you can choose to stay at night and enjoy the star show. Stayovers at Triund are very popular, especially among foreigners. Camping at Triund has two advantages. You get to experience the awe-inspiring sunrise and sunset, not to mention the star-studded night sky which is not to be missed if you have trekked all the way up. And you get to take an early morning hike towards Kareri Lake and make the trek up even more worthwhile<\/p>
