Kullu is located 70 km from state capital Chandigarh and about 110 km from state capital Shimla. Take a taxi and go to Kullu town and leave for the destination. Best time to go? Kullu becomes a super busy tourist destination during summer (March-May). The cool weather and pleasant weather all the way up to October-November are pleasant. Winter usually starts in December and extends to February.<\/p>

Go for a sturdy backpack with comfortable clothing. Consider switching from flip-flops to hiking boots and different shoes. Wear a good pair of sun-safety sunglasses and put on a wool or cotton jacket. It is important to pack in all essentials. Make sure to carry enough food, water, GPS, camping stove, first aid kit, winter clothes and a very good pair of footwear. On the day of the rafting, the best thing to do is to drink a lot of water and eat something light before you set out. Make sure you have enough food as well as snacks.<\/p>

The best times for rafting are in the summer when nature is in full bloom and the river flows cool but not too extreme. Pack a jacket in case the weather is a little rough during the evening. Don’t forget to take a guide if you have never experienced the place before since they will know the best places and activities around town. Keep in mind that there are different river levels, therefore, the water needs to be calm for rafting. Don’t go if the river is still running high. There are different classes of rafts for each grade of the river so make sure to pick the right one, though the rafting institutions usually have it all set to go. It is best to plan Kullu for two days. You will be exploring everything in a couple of days. Delhi is at least 5 hours journey from Kullu valley. You can book a flight to Kullu from the New Delhi airport by paying around 2000-3000 INR. You can also reach Kullu by train.<\/p>

You can also take to the road and take your time reaching the valley and exploring the route. On the way, tourists have the option of visiting the places like Nurpur, Manali, Dharamsala, Chamba, Mandi, Chamba, Shimla, Jogindernagar, Pauri, Una, and Nalagarh.<\/p>
