A nature park named Saurabh Van Vihar was built in memory of the valiant and heroic soldier Saurabh Kalia, who died during the Kargil War. This lovely and picturesque tourist destination spans a total of 13 kilometres and is situated on the banks of the snow-fed Neugel Khad in the settlement of Kwat. Activities in Saurabh Van Vihar<\/strong><\/p>

The Saurabh Van Vihar is currently overseen by the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, which has worked hard to make sure that every visitor’s experience is thrilling and unforgettable. It was also important to make sure that people could enjoy nature’s presence and understand how important it is to our lives when this park was created. There are picnic shelters, trees, shrubs, and 115 different varieties of medicinal plants there. Additionally, there are water features, fitness pathways, an outdoor theatre, a Bambusetum, and a Tiger Hill Bridge in the park. Therefore, it is the ideal location to enjoy a chill evening surrounded by nature.<\/span><\/p>

Another popular pastime here for visitors is bird watching. After finishing your tour of the park, you can take a short stroll to the adjacent Kandi Villages. The villages of Sukandi, Drugun Kandi, and Thala Kandi are included in this group. The Nergal Khad bridges, one of which is for cars and the other for pedestrians, provide good access between the Kandi Villages and the Saurabh Van Vihar and Palampur. You may also take a stroll along the Neogal Khad’s pebbly bank or eat a snack at the park’s Caf\u00e9 Monal.<\/span><\/p>

At Saurabh Van Vihar, you can go boating and bouldering.<\/span><\/p>

In Saurabh Van Vihar, there is a little lake where people can go boating. Even though boating in this lake is not very difficult, it is worthwhile to attempt. The lake receives its water from the glacier in the Dhauladhar peaks of the Himalayas. The park offers bouldering as another activity. The park is littered with boulders of various sizes; you can just choose one based on your degree of climbing and scrambling fitness and take in the adrenaline rush.<\/span><\/p>

History of Saurabh Van Vihar\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Capt. Saurabh Kalia served in the Indian Army and gave his life in vain to defend his nation during the Kargil War in 1999. He died in the conflict, but not before enduring more than 20 days of torture at the hands of Pakistani soldiers. A memorial to all those who give their lives to protect the nation’s resources and wildlife and to show their admiration for the country in all of its forms, Saurabh Van Vihar was constructed in the late captain’s honour.<\/span><\/p>

How To Reach Saurabh Van Vihar\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Exactly two kilometres from Palampur in Neugal is where you’ll find Saurabh Van Vihar. However, getting there by public transportation is exceedingly challenging. The most practical choice is to take a full-day taxi from Palampur.<\/span><\/p>
